Job Opportunity - Personal Development Mentors (PDM) - Apex Scotland

Apex Scotland is the leading employment and training organisation specialising in work with offenders, ex-offenders and young people at risk. 


They are looking to recruit 2 x part time, Personal Development Mentors (PDM) to join the team in Dumfries to cover a maternity leave of up to 12 months.  The team offer a diverse range of services for young people and adults to help them break down barriers to employment and engage in community activities. Apex Scotland are advertising the posts as two part time posts at 17.5 hours each, however if the right candidate could demonstrate the skills needed for both services, then they will consider applications for both services, giving a total of a full time 35 hour post. Most of their work is carried out between Monday to Friday office hours, however there may be odd occasion requiring out of hours working

Enabling the Living Wage in the charity sector

The Living Wage Foundation has just launched a new survey to seek input on how to enable the Living Wage in the charity sector. 

Later this year, the Foundation will subsequently launch a prioritised action plan, based on these survey responses.

There are 2 premises available to let in Buccleuch Street, Dumfries.

They are the 1st and 2nd floor of the building, and there is currently no disabled access. These premises can be let out individually or together.

Anderson Property already lease buildings in Dumfries to a number of charities including Support in Mind, Princes Trust for Carers, Rape Crisis, D & G Advocacy Service, ILS and Barnardos.

Community Asset Management (Dumfries and Galloway) Limited (CAM) was set up to manage and develop property for the benefit of third sector organisations. CAM are now in a position to share information on their project’s and the future of the Society.
