A Connected Scotland: tackling social isolation and loneliness - draft strategy open for consultation

Please note that the Scottish Government’s tackling social isolation and loneliness draft strategy is now open for consultation. The Minister for Social Security, Ms Freeman, launched the Scottish Government's draft strategy to tackle social isolation and loneliness for consultation. Stakeholders and community groups can respond to the consultation here, and there are also a number of events they’ll be hosting (details here). 

Community Justice Partnership - January Newsletter

The Community Justice Partnership have published Volume I, Issue 1 of their newsletter. 

Community Justice has changed! Since 1st April 2017 we have had a local partnership in place replacing the previous model where we were part of South West Scotland Community Justice Authority along with the three Ayrshire local authorities. 

Age Scotland Veterans’ Project

The Veterans' Project is a new initiative from Age Scotland that aims to boost health and well-being for veterans age 65 and older, and their families. They can visit your group and deliver an interactive talk about how to identify ‘hidden’ older veterans and direct them to support they are entitled to.

Families Affected by Alcohol and Drugs in Dumfries and Galloway - Practitioner Survey!

Scottish Families Affected by Alcohol and Drugs is working with Dumfries and Galloway Alcohol and Drug Partnership to understand more about the experiences of families affected by alcohol and drugs across the region.They know that many people are concerned about someone else’s drug or alcohol use. However they also know that people can feel too embarrassed, ashamed or afraid to talk to anyone else about this. Working together, they want to identify and reach families who are affected by alcohol and drugs, in particular those who are not already in touch with services.

Sexual Health Dumfries and Galloway - Your views are wanted

Sexual Health Dumfries and Galloway have selected their annual Sexual Health Week theme, which runs from 22nd to 28th January 2018, is “Let’s Talk about Sex: the effect of pornography”. Their aim is to explore the issues for different agencies/partners/services in  D&G around pornography and its effects. To help them do this, they have a short survey to gather our partners’ views around raising awareness of the effects of pornography.
