NHS Dumfries and Galloway is currently looking to appoint two Non Executive Members to join the Board. All kinds of people can make good Board Members and anyone with
the necessary skills, knowledge and personal qualities to make a contribution to the Board is invited to apply. NHS Dumfries and Galloway and the Scottish Government

The work undertaken by NHS Bo.ards across the country provides the strategic framework to ensure that the management of our healthcare is more efficient, more accountable and more effective. These Boards bring together key partners who deliver our healthcare. One of the main functions of these different bodies is to put government policies into practice.  NHS Dumfries & Galloway is a Health Board with ambition and vision. We are working with our partners to make our communities the best place to live active, safe and healthy lives through a programme of Health and Social Care integration, which is the most extensive in Scotland. In addition, we recently completed on the exciting £250million project to open the region's new 350 bedroom acute hospital; allowing us to deliver safe and person centred acute care in outstanding facilities.  As a Board of governance, Dumfries and Galloway NHS Board has responsibility for key issues such as health improvement, strategic planning and resource allocation.

With the Chair and other Members of the Board, you will oversee a wide range of responsibilities and balance national priorities, which address the healthcare needs of the people of Dumfries and Galloway.
