The first progress update on the implementation of the Dumfries and Galloway Carers Strategy 2017 – 2021 indicates that good progress has been made on over half of the measures identified to support the Carer's strategy and work is planned over the next six months which aims to continue this progress.

However, the Scottish Government Health and Care Experience Survey carried out every two years shows that in Dumfries and Galloway, the percentage of unpaid Carers who feel supported has decreased from 49% in 2016 to 40% in 2018.

To fully understand what ‘supported’ means to Carers, a short questionnaire has been made available online at This information will be used to inform the Carers Programme Board and the Integration Joint Board.

Please note: The closing date for this survey is Friday 14th September 2018.
